Obituary:

Milton was born on a farm about a mile south of Warsaw, MO. In the late 1840's the family moved to a 40 acre farm in the NE corner of Callaway County, MO. On 30 Jan 1875 Milton was arrested for pulling a gun on the Audrain County Sheriff. The sheriff was going to arrest Milton's brother-in-law, John Madden. On 18 Feb 1875, Milton married Mary Agnes Gilltrap. Mary was the daughter of Laurence Gilltrap and Mary O'Malley. The Gilltraps lived two farms to the west of the Corders. After their marriage they farmed in Audrain county near Martinsburg. After the death of Milton's father, James (4 Feb 1883), Milton purchased the interests in the farm from his two sisters and two brothers. The family lived on the farm until Jan 1900 when they lost the farm due to a default on a loan. They moved to Mexico, MO. About 1905, Milton moved out of the house due to drinking. He moved to the St. Louis area. He died at his brother-in-law's home (John Gilltrap) on 21 Mar 1924. He is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery outside Martinsburg. His plot is near the Gilltraps.
